Power surge

We had storms again last night and my machine was surged. My amazing husband was able to put my hard drive in his machine and get all the important stuff off, even though it originally looked hopeless. I always tell him I married him for the free tech support...and I'm only partly joking. The computer isn't working, though, so I'm borrowing the kids' laptop at the moment.

I've been a bad bloggy citizen lately. Between the ferrying children to camp, the 12 hours or so I'm in class per week (our professor likes to keep us a little late), and the assignments that follow...something has had to give and that something has been blogging. I've been hard pressed to keep up with my Bloglines and then even when I do get a chance to read, odds are I am pulled away before I get to type something in to your comment box. I have 3 more weeks of this class and then life should ease up a little, I hope...but then after a month of break, the fall semester starts and I'm taking Microbiology/Pathology and A&P II, so time might be in even shorter supply. I think I will at school every evening in the fall. I'm still here, though, reading when I can...commenting when I can...posting when I can...but just not in the ways I am used to. It is strange suddenly not knowing what is going on in your lives after reading about it day in and day out for so long. If I'm lucky, I've been playing catch up every few days or maybe just on the weekends, just catching your latest post...missing out on the others, not really knowing what I've missed out on. It isn't that I feel obligated to keep up, it is that I want to and simply haven't been able to lately. If only there were more hours in the day.

Me and BubTar on a lunch date.

I don't know who is cuter in that pic! I am with you on the time for blogging issue. It's crazy, this missing people who we know intimately, yet not at all. I'm in the same boat right now. xoxo

If you could please ignore what's going on in your life and spend 24 hours a day reading my blog, I would really appreciate it. More than that, really I EXPECT IT!!! ;p

You are amazing, and wonderful.

you know what, hon? i get it and you totally know i get it. it is so hard, keeping up with blogging and so many of us are feeling remorseful or sad about it. how can we not when we love it so, and when we don't want to disappoint anyone?

but we need to give ourselves a break, permission to let it go a bit and focus on ourselves, our families, school, work, the kids, etc.

xoxo

That fantastic news abour your 'puter...if it ever happens to me I'm sending my stuff to ManTar. :)

I'm proud of all you've got going on in your life...amazed, really.

And that pic of you and Bub is too darn cute!

WHAT? Classes before blogging? Seriously, I LOVED the comment from yesterday about it being way too early for Fox News. we're only subjected to that at my in-laws. Mom's a die hard Democrat. she knew how to raise her boys right. I think my youngest brother is the only Democrat Southern Baptist preacher in the world.

there's never enough time...never...for whatever it is we need. just have to make the most of what we do have. That means I better get outside with my kids before the weekend is over.

You gotta live your wonderful life, my dear. Go live it!

I have struggled with this a lot lately, the "all or nothing" mentality I have with blogging, and it almost drove me to give it up entirely. I am getting the hang of giving myself a break though, and just doing it when I can. Real life comes first. We get it. We miss you, but we get it. No go take on the world.

Live your life...sometimes just getting the necessities done is overwhelming!!!

For some reason, my little fingers drive my mouse over to your link almost every day. I just love checking up on the 'Tars. You take it easy and let us check up on you!

i know that feeling exactly. go live your life, and we'll all touch base when we can.

(funny, i use that phrase all the time, and I just had a very sudden and powerful image of us all standing around with our hands on a tree - "Base" - our safe place, our place to be together, to play and rest and just be....)

You're not a bad bloggy citizen at all! Life intervenes sometimes. That's good. I am still amazed at how much you can get done in one day...

awww I love lunch dates with my girls.

I would totally marry someone for free stuff. I am tempted to marry my hairdresser because really the thing that would make my life the BEST would be if I had great hair everyday, not just when he does it.

I have been totally amazed that you've been able to keep up as well as you have this past year. I know it hasn't been easy. You manage time better than almost anyone I know!

I hope you love your Micro class. It was probably my favorite out of 4 years of college.

Love the pic of you and Bub! Lunch dates are so much fun!

what you are doing darling is far more important than reading us.

I was like you. I blogged every day for about nine months at the beginning and then I started graduate school and something had to give. Don't worry. Life comes first and we'll still be here. The guilt is bad though. I know how it feels.

I hear you. I am catchign up yesterday and today, because I am busy at work and asleep by 9. But you have a lot on the go, lady, so no one can be surprised if you're not the avid and active blogger/commenter you were before school began! Still, it's a good thing you are doing.

You guys are adorable.

Don't let blogging and visiting become an obligation. I struggle with this too but I don't want to take the fun out of it...

Great picture of you two.

I know what you mean about the busy. I think I'm bound to become increasingly sporadic in the blogosphere, now that the kids are done school for the summer. That's life and we're living it. See you when we see you.
