KayTar is really having a great time at camp. Yesterday she told me that she:
Played a hand bell, then showed me how.
Played parachute, up and down. Then twirly whirlies.
Painted again. The letter L this time.
Did the monkey dance.
Ate her green beans, "so yummy!" and her "classic" chips (the chips are Lay's Classic, so she reads the bag and calls them "classic")
I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be getting all this information from her! It wasn't long ago that we weren't getting any kind of feedback from her, so to be hear about her day straight from her and to be able to converse about it is AMAZING!
Here is a (hilarious) conversation we had yesterday:
Me: (I said something I can't remember now)
KayTar: No, TEACHER says that.
Me: Does your teacher have a name?
Me: What is your teacher's name?
The staff all wear shirts that say, you guessed it, "Volunteer"...and KayTar thinks it is EVERYONE'S name! That KayTar, she sure makes me laugh.
"Volunteer!" That's funny: reading gets you into trouble when you're too young to make social sense of it all, huh? Sounds like camp is really great!
Hahaha! So cute. All this eating you've mentioned in the last couple of posts is awesome... are you cautiously optimistic?
She is doing really well at putting thoughts and ideas together! And the food too...
ok, seriously how you don't explode from cute, I will never know
Oh, that "volunteer" bit cracks me up.
How thrilling that she is enjoying camp so much!
Oh man, if she saw me today she'd think my name was elephant because that's what's on my T-shirt. OMG that girl cracks me UP!
OMG...you guys are on a winning streak!
About the feedback...
I wonder if it's because she is with you so much. Maybe she would mimic because she's smart enough to know that you already know the answer to what you are asking. Now she has new experiences and wants to share them with you.
Green beans!!!!! Snacks!!!! I almost wept with joy when I heard she's been eating on her own....
Dude. She's totally growing up. Seriously, this is awesome.
I'm glad she's loving it! That's wonderful...
I lvoe that she's telling you all this stuff now!
So glad she loves it! How wonderful for you all!
I still can't get over the fact that she can read. ;)
My Katie has been asking about her and says that she wants to go on the ferris wheel with KayTar and BubTar.
hmmmm. . . spending time w/mommy while she catches up on blogs is never a bad thing!
That is an absolutely adorable picture of your little camper. What a big girl...and I'm so surprised at how well she is telling you about her day. Including all her teachers named Volunteer. That's such a hoot!
btw, think i forget to mention last time, and this pic reminded me, how darling kaytars butterfly barrettes are.
Too, too funny!
I'm glad she is enjoying camp so much. That is awesome!
...look at that face.
