She's...

She's sleeping.
She's been sleeping.
She's been sleeping for almost 8.5 hours.
She's only been awake for roughly an hour and a half today; she stirs and screams, kicking her legs, writhing, moaning.
She's only awake for a moment or two, and then she's out again.

Thank God she's sleeping through. From what I can gather in her wakeful moments, the pain seems to be worse than normal. She doesn't want to be touched or moved at all. She's a bit violent with the kicking and squirming. We were worried she is passing out, because of how suddenly she drops from consciousness, but the pediatrician said that as long as she isn't turning blue it isn't hurting her. One thing of the list-o-worries.

So the current things I am worried about are that:

*She has slept so long and has been conscious so little today.

*She hasn't peed since her overnight diaper.

*She hasn't taken anything in all day long, and has thrown up a handful of times.

*She is now feverish on top of the episode.

*Her senses go on high alert when she is ill and I don't know if we will be able to get fluids into even after she wakes up.

All of this could amount to nothing, she could wake up and be a-okay, drink her fluids like a champ and the medicine could break her fever. Or it could looking something like this. And nobody...NOBODY...wants that.

Wasn't I just saying how completely unstressed I have been? I've got to learn to keep my mouth shut.

Josh took BubTar to the Go-Karts to keep the house quiet. The only sound to be heard is the clacking of the keys on my keyboard, and the occasional sound of a worried mother tiptoeing into her sweet sick baby's bedroom to make sure everything is still okay.

Edited to add: She just woke up, and the first thing she did was ask for a bottle. Whew. As long as she keeps it down, we're good.

My heart just aches for you all. I know you must be worried to death. I pray that this episode ends soon.

It's so hard to be calm and not worry when the wee ones are sick. As my friend Bob Marley says, everything is gonna be alright...

I keep checking back for news. I was so tense until I saw that last note.

Still thinking of you...

I called my church and had her put on our special prayer list as soon as I read this post. For what it's worth, 14000 Catholic families are praying for her as we prepare for Easter. I was just so sad to hear about this latest episode.

I'm thinking about you. I hope she gets through this without any more pain. I am glad to hear she is asking for a bottle. Take care.

Wow. She chugged that bottle. I handed it to her about 7:05 and it was GONE by 7:25. And then she demanded sandwich crackers. And she ate 5! She ATE them. KayTar ATE 5 whole sandwich crackers. And then she begged for baby food, too. This is the first time she's ever been hungry in her whole life. It is unreal.

And she peed at 7:45. Woohoo!

Relief.

I'm so glad she peed and ate and drank. I had tears in my eyes reading your update and paraphrasing it for my hubby.

You are so strong, not that you have a choice I s'pose but KayTar is sooooo lucky to have you. And Josh and Bubba.

Thanks for the update.

I just did a big fat catchup read. I'm so sorry I've been AWOL, clearly I am self absorbed these days.
I'm double sorry that KayTar had another episode. I understand your disappointment, and I wish I could say something to make both of you feel better.
As always, thinking of you guys Kyla.

I wish I wasn't finally managing to check in only to find you've been having such a hard time... I'm so sorry.

I'm really glad she's up and drinking fluids again, though. It can only help.

Sending happy thoughts your way.
