KayTar drew that today. She said, "That's me."
I pointed at the lines at the bottom of her eyes and said, "What are those?"
"Tears." she said, "I'm crying because I don't feel good."
Did you hear that sound? Yes, it was the sound of my heart breaking.
My poor sweet girl, creating her own little preschool pain scale.
It isn't an exact match, but I suspect that it might be a Number 10 putting on its very bravest face.

My heart is breaking for her and for you! That really is the saddest thing I've seen. She is so strong and has been through so much for such a young kid. You too, my friend, you too. Hugs.
have her do one tomorrow or the next day. it will be a happier face, and i KNOW it will make you feel better.

That IS the saddest self portrait EVER. :( Poor baby girl. However, I think she is a fantastic artist. And I like that she still drew a smile. That's KayTar, though, huh?
