A history with Santa

ETA, today's photo:

Overheard yesterday:

BubTar: Mom, is Santa real?

Me: (surprised, unsure how to answer, must buy some time) Uhhh, errr, what do YOU think?

BubTar: Well, I don't know. That is WHY I asked you.

Me: Well...errrr....who brings you presents?

BubTar: Oh yeah. Guess Santa is real. Thanks.

WHEW.

When in doubt, always distract with presents.

This would have been a Wordless Wednesday, except for all those pesky words. ;)

****

Also, if you would go leave a few kind words for my friend Katie and her family. Sweet and strong Jakie boy is still holding on, ever the fighter, always strong like his mommy. Wish them peace and strength and comfort as they continue to walk through a situation most cannot fathom. That Jacob, he is a gift to behold, a testament to the tireless strength of the human spirit. Hold them all close in your thoughts and prayers as the rest of us rush around, preparing for Christmas celebrations.

Quick thinking with that one, Kyla!

Such beautiful words about sweet Jake.

They really keep you on your toes, don't they! I love the pictures!

Phew. Glad he was so easily distracted.

Ben's over Santa, really over him. I just need to make sure he doesn't infect Jack with his cynicism.

That first Santa, I don't know about him. A little creepy. We saw Santa the other day, and my oldest rejected him because "his glasses weren't Santa's glasses". She's a traditionalist.

I'm just floored that your kids not only like Santa, but believe in him and that Bub accepted your distraction...he really wanted YES to be the answer.

That's awesome.

And precious photos. :)

Matthew is always asking all these questions about how Santa works and I'm at a loss to answer them most of the time. I usually say, "I don't know! He's a mystery!" So the other day he was asking about Santa again and I flat out asked him if he believed ion Santa. His response, "Oh yeah! I just want to know how he does it!" I think he is on the border of believing and dibelieving . . .afraid to say he doesn't believe in case he's wrong and gets nothing! lol

Hey - are those last three all the SAME Santa? And KayTars ponytails are AWESOME! BubTar is handsome as always.

I have the same question--- are the last three the same Santa? If so, how cool!

I was in a super foul mood this afternoon--work stuff, you know. Then I thought of Katie and her sweet boy and things were instantly put into perspective. I pray for them OFTEN.

Now about your cutie pies: THEY ARE SO STINKIN' CUTE! I love, love, love, LOVE how you've shown them through the years. I'll have to find M pictures from last year and this year to show how much difference a year makes. I especially noticed that with sweet KayTar.

I loved to see the progression of photos!

Yes--distracting with presents often works.

I've been thinking about your friend--what a strong, amazing boy he must be.

BubTar's dimples are pretty much OWNING me in that first picture...

I don't think I am ever going to get a shot of all three of my kids with Santa. Hailey just got over her terror this year. Apparently, she passed it on to the baby.

Awwwwwww.

I like the Hawaiian tropical look of that first shot. Miss M, as you can well imagine, will not get within 5 feet of the man, let alone consent to having her picture taken on his lap. You kids, though, they know that you don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I will have to remember that whenever my time comes with the Santa questions. Hopefully it will be a long time from now!

Great pics :)

Wow, can't believe how strong Jake is....I've been wondering, thanks for the update.

Kaytar looks just the same in all the pictures. I love the one where she looks like she's trying to escape by sliding off.
Merry Christmas!

I am just blown away that sweet Jakie is hanging in there like he is.

and I loved this history with Santa. I so wish I had a picture from easton's first Christmas. But we were too scared of the germs on Santa's lap back then. :)
