As you all know, KayTar has a peanut allergy, so she can't eat cake at a birthday party. We've been priming her about this, teaching that she can't eat cakes and cupcakes and candy (and a host of other things) without our approval. This weekend we decided to let her answer for herself when offered cake and this is how it went...
Jumping Jungle Guy: Do you want cake?
KayTar: (doesn't respond because it is noisy and she's half-deaf)
JJG: Would you like some cake?
KayTar: (doesn't respond because it is noisy and she's half-deaf)
Josh and I: KayTar! He's asking if you want cake! Answer him!
JJG: Want some cake?
KayTar: Yes, please!
Josh and I: No no no no! You can't have cake! (to JJG) She can't have cake, sorry.
Pretty sure that Jumping Jungle Guy thought we were screwing with him on purpose.

Oh man! That's tough.
We actually got a pretty good laugh out of it. The comedic timing was spot on. LOL.
funny. next, you should practice stranger danger.
Heh.....I hope the cake offering dude could think about it later and realize how funny it was. Totally cracked me up! :)
Okay - so if you think it was funny, I don't feel so bad for laughing. :) 'Cause I did.
Hee hee :) I LOVE that picture - goes so well with the little story - silly girl!
*totally laughing*
KayTar is a piece of work :)
D. learned long ago that he can't have cake/ice cream at most birthday parties. He's surprisingly accepting.
You meanies! LOL
She'll get there!
Last night at Cub Scouts they were talking about the Thanksgiving Feast and the head of the pack said, "If you can't eat something because of allergies, I need to know." She raised her hand and said, "I can't have anything with peanuts because I'm allergic." all on her own!
Ha Ha Ha! That is funny :)
is she not allowed to have any type of cake? or just particular kinds?
It's like a scene out of a sitcom. I laughed aloud.
Jumping Jungle Guy probably needed screwing with. Great story!
Gotta give her credit for trying at least. Can't say that I blame her. ;)
no, you were screwing with him WITH purpose. :)
ohhh..... nice try, though.
last week in sunday school they offered a donut to a 4 year old who is diabetic. She very clearly said "I can't, I'm diabetic" Kids really can learn that stuff. MQ is pretty good about sayin no to stuff she's allergic to (although her allergy isn't severe, so I don't worry about it too much)
