During one of our recent trips to the Children's Hospital, KayTar and I stopped in the cafeteria for our standard fare, a spicy italian from Subway with extra meat on the side. KayTar eats the extra meat and I eat the sandwich.
As we were walking through the cafeteria, we passed a little boy in a wagon. He was shirtless and we could see that he had a g-button and was receiving a feed.
KayTar pointed and began to speak and in that moment I saw the boy's mother gird herself up, preparing for the blow that typically accompanies the words of a pointing child, and I saw his father stiffen.
Then KayTar said, "WOW! That boy has a tubey just like me!" She unceremoniously lifted up her own shirt as a show of solidarity. "We're button buddies!"
And with that, everyone exhaled into a fit of laughter.

Love, love, love it. Button buddies - how wonderful. I'll bet she made that little boy's day.
that kid of yours is something really special. Both of them are
What a great story! When ever we are at the children's hospital with Dash, I realize that our issues are relatively minor. What a great think that KT saw the positive.
Great story!
Maybe KT should be leading a support group for kids with g-buttons. She's got the requisite charm and enthusiasm.
I love this story, too.
